We were proud to welcome a crew from Le Figaro Étudiant, the student section of the French newspaper Le Figaro, who came to film a video about our school: "At École Méliès, our students learn to create, not to generate." Our founder Franck Petitta and Jonathan Del Val tell our story, born in the Orly château where Georges Méliès spent his final years, as well as the teaching approach of our Animation Filmmaking programme, built on the fundamentals, drawing, sculpture, photography, editing, before creation even comes into play.
The video also looks back at the career paths of our alumni, now working at Weta Workshop in New Zealand alongside Peter Jackson, at Disney, or at Illumination Mac Guff. Twenty-six of them worked on the first season of the series Arcane alone.
