Val-de-Marne Department interview with Franck Petitta, Director of the École Méliès

An interview published by the Val-de-Marne Department

The Val-de-Marne Department met with Franck Petitta, founder and Director of the École Méliès. In this interview, he presents the school’s unique teaching approach: extensive hands-on practice, workshops, concrete projects and sessions with working industry professionals. Artistic fundamentals remain central — life drawing, perspective, storytelling, sculpting — and are closely linked to today’s tools: 2D/3D animation, live-action shooting, VFX and real-time technologies. The idea is simple: to train Image Artisans who are ready to create and take action as soon as they graduate.

The interview also looks at our ecosystem: partnerships, technical stages, links with the industry and continuous monitoring of innovation. The goal is to prepare profiles capable of mastering the entire image production pipeline, whatever the technique used (traditional or digital). This blend of arts and technology is what makes the difference for studios.
