The programme

A preparatory year to join the Méliès School and strengthen the skills it requires. It provides the academic fundamentals essential to an artistic education and meets the entry-exam requirements of the School as well as those of other art programmes.

Course content

Observational drawing, perspective drawing, colour, museum visits, life drawing, modelling, art history, film analysis, film culture.

Admission

Motivation interview and baccalaureate required, with a solid general and artistic culture. Admission without competitive exam, on continuous assessment. Applications open all year round. At the end of the year, progression to Year 1 of Artisan de l'Image Animée is possible depending on the level attained.

The programme

Our students work across the entire filmmaking chain, in traditional animation (stop-motion, 2D) as well as digital animation.

Course content

Applied arts, stop-motion animation, traditional 2D animation, 3D animation and modelling, motion capture, special effects.

Admission

Entrance exam: two remote tests (colour, narrative) and on-site tests (observational drawing, motivation interview).

The programme

Acquire the cross-disciplinary know-how the profession demands to move into live-action shooting, a constantly evolving field. Develop a sense for analysing the images of today's and tomorrow's cinema, sharpen your skills through practice and understand the whole filmmaking chain.

Course content

Pre-production (technical constraints, team management); digital live-action shooting techniques (virtual stage, framing, sound recording, lighting); post-production (rushes, editing, mixing); programming; blueprint; virtual reality; real-time motion capture; real-time 3D.

The programme

Become an expert in virtual production and train for the audiovisual sector's first emerging profession recognised by France Compétences. Learn to supervise LED-wall shoots, master camera tracking and real-time compositing, and support productions from technical and artistic development through to post-production.

Career path

The VP supervisor is the key contact for the various departments of the shooting crew, from pre-production to post-production, bringing the best technical solutions in service of the directing.

Organisation

A 12-month programme. Each RNCP competency block can be validated independently, for progressive certification. Taught by working experts from leading studios (MacGuff, Ubisoft, Ellipsanime).

The programme

A high-level programme designed for the technical and decision-making profiles who must integrate generative AI into a post-production pipeline, without giving in to hype or undermining quality, workflow, the legal framework or production ethics.

Who it's for

Supervisors, leads and technical managers. The challenge is no longer to understand generative AI, but to know where it brings real value and how to integrate it into an existing pipeline.
