Join École Méliès for the 2026–2027 academic year
Saturday, February 14, 2026 marks the new entrance exam day to join École Méliès as an Artisan of Animated Image, Artisan of Cinema, or in the Fine Arts Preparatory Class for the 2026–2027 school year.
Interview sessions are also organized on this day for the Fine Arts Preparatory Class.
This exam day allows us to evaluate your creativity, your artistic eye, your general knowledge, and your motivation to join the school.
A new opportunity to showcase your universe, your sense of imagery, and your study project within École Méliès.
Schedule for the February 14 Exam
Artisan of Animated Image
- Remote illustration test: creation of preparatory work sent to the school, the original of which must be brought on the day of the exam.
- Observation / perspective test: candidates position themselves within the school and draw what they see (no posed model), to evaluate gaze, composition, and space construction.
- General knowledge quiz: written test covering general knowledge concepts.
- Motivation interview with the jury: discussion based on your portfolio, your background, and your study project.
Artisan of Cinema
- Creative exercise at home: upon registration, you receive a theme by email and have 8 days to produce a free creation on this theme: video, photo series, photo-novel, video clip, film excerpt, etc. (maximum duration: 2 minutes).
- The objective is to prioritize evaluating your creativity and your ability to tell stories with images, rather than just technical quality.
- Cinematographic culture quiz: landmarks, works, authors, genres, and cinema vocabulary.
- Interview with the jury: feedback on the creative exercise, your inspirations, your background, and your professional project.
Fine Arts Preparatory Class
Candidates for the Fine Arts Preparatory Class also participate in their admission interview on this day. No technical test is required beforehand.
Admission Conditions
- Hold a Baccalaureate (High School Diploma) or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Pass the entrance exam corresponding to the chosen course.
- Possess good general and artistic culture.
- Be comfortable with digital tools.
- Application fees: €90.
