LUIS MANJARRES
FX LEAD – SONY PICTURES IMAGEWORKS – CLASS OF 2009
Graduated from École Méliès in 2009, in the Animated Image Artisan course, Luis Manjarres specialised in the creation of digital visual effects.
After starting out in Paris in advertising and video games, he moved into feature-film VFX, notably at DNEG in London and Vancouver, contributing to major productions including Blade Runner 2049, Terminator Genisys, Pacific Rim: Uprising, Greyhound, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as well as multiple Marvel and Disney titles.
He is now Lead FX Technical Director at Sony Pictures Imageworks, where he leads teams of FX artists and supports R&D on complex effects, notably with SideFX Houdini.
Alongside production, he teaches at CG Master Academy, sharing professional methods with new generations of VFX artists.
