Professional training programme

Virtual Production
Supervision

Become an expert in virtual production (VP) and train in the audiovisual sector's foremost emerging profession, recognised by France Compétences. Learn to supervise shoots on LED walls, master camera tracking and real-time compositing with Unreal Engine to revolutionise film, advertising and television production.

École Méliès offers the first European training programme specialising in virtual production supervision, in partnership with the CNC and the France 2030 — La Grande Fabrique de l'Image plan. The programme leads to the RNCP41811 Level 7 title (Master's equivalent) and takes place at the Orly campus (94) through work-study.

Objectives

  • Assess the feasibility of a VP project — LED stage, hybrid volume, green screen.
  • Manage every stage of a VP project — pre-production, shoot, post-production.
  • Master the technical tools of the virtual stage: optical calibration, camera tracking, real-time VFX.
  • Build seamless interactions between real and virtual spaces, both on stage and inside the 3D engine.

The VP Supervisor is the central point of contact for all technical and artistic departments, ensuring the filmed sequence matches the final intended vision.

« I come from post-production and video games. The day I discovered The Mandalorian, I knew I wanted to create those virtual sets in real time. In three months of training, I had already learned to transfer my 3D environments onto an LED wall using Unreal Engine, and much more. If you dream of seeing your creations come to life on a real film set, this training is the gateway to the cinema of tomorrow. »
