Frédérick ALVES-CUNHA
Character Sculptor – Illumination MacGuff – Class of 2009
Frédérick ALVES-CUNHA, also known as “FREDUS”, is a French character development artist who has been working in the animation industry for over ten years. Graduating from one of the top French animation film schools, École Méliès, he has worked for most major studios, in particular Illumination Entertainment, where he works as a character sculptor.
He has also worked as a character art director at Mikros Animation and Superprod Animation.
His love for sculpture and cartoons has naturally encouraged him to pursue character creation, making it his specialty.
In parallel to his full-time career in animation, he enjoys drawing and sculpting characters using traditional methods.
When Frédérick is not at the Parisian studios, he lives peacefully in the Picardy countryside with his family, his small workshop, and his vegetable garden.
