Luis Manjarres
FX Lead – Sony Imageworks – Class of 2009
Graduated from École Méliès in 2009, in the Animated Image Artisan course, Luis Manjarres specialised in the creation of digital visual effects.
After starting out in Paris in the advertising and video game sectors, he moved into the world of VFX, notably at DNEG in London and Vancouver, where he worked on major projects such as Marvel and Disney films, Blade Runner 2049, Terminator Genisys, Pacific Rim 2, Greyhound, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
He is now Lead FX Technical Director at Sony Imageworks, where he leads a team of FX artists and oversees research and development projects for complex effects (notably using Houdini).
Alongside his production work, he also teaches at CG Master Academy, sharing his expertise and methods with new generations of VFX artists.
